AMD Releases ATI FirePro V8800
Last Updated on Thursday, 8 April 2010 09:02 Written by Naota Thursday, 8 April 2010 08:58
It is a great time for video cards and processors! Well, unless your Nvidia. AMD/ATI has just launched its newest workstation videocard, the ATI FirePro V8800. This baby delivers 2.6 teraflops of computing power and has a memory bandwidth of 147.2 GB/s. And yes this card supports eye-infinity.
Some of you may not be interested because of the lack of support for ATI cards with Adobe CS5 products, but you can always change that setting in the registry. Besides, at a retail price of $1499 who wouldn’t be interested in this card? It is in fact $300 less than the previous generation! I like what you are thinking AMD! Especially because AMD states that this product has 2x the computing ability over the last generation.
You can find more information about the ATI FirePro V8800 here. And yes it supports DirectX11. I hope to see a review with benchmarks comparing this to previous generations.
