The Witcher Series – Coming to Netflix

the-witcher-series-coming-to-netflix

The Witcher, written by Andrzej Sapkowksi, is coming to Netflix. While many have not read the books (or listened to the fantastic audio tapes), you have likely at least heard of the video game franchise. The Witcher 3 in particular has a very large following. Wanting to continue that success and compete with other premium shows, such as Game of Thrones, Netflix has pushed towards development of this series.

There’s no set date of release just yet, but we do know that the writers are attempting to not stray too far from the lore, much to the delight of those faithful to the books and games. You can expect the usual suspects to be in it, such as Geralt of Rivia, Yarpen Zigrin, and many more. Hopefully this ends up better than Netflix’s live action Death Note movie.

Captain Planet Movie – Coming Soon!

Captain Planet MovieRemember the cartoon series Captain Planet and the Planeteers? Or the sequel, The Adventures of Captain Planet? Well, turns out there may be a Captain Planet Movie coming out soon!

Crazy right? After all this time they decide to make a movie. Talk about a blast from the past, huh?

This will be a live-action Captain Planet Movie — not a cartoon one — which makes it all the more intriguing.

Will it be a flop? Or will it somehow dominate the movie charts of films that come out in 2012. Regardless, one thing is for sure: that I’ll end up seeing this movie just for the fun of it. Information on the Captain Planet Movie Release Date is not yet available, but I’m sure more information will come soon. This movie is a cooperation between Cartoon Network and producers Don Murphy & Susan Montford.

Here you can get all the information as it comes available for the Captain Planet Movie.

Cool Video: Ip Man (Wing Chun) VS 10 Karate Black Belts

If you’re into martial arts, then I recommend seeing the movie Ip Man. It’s a great movie and is even highly rated on IMDB. In this scene, Ip (Yip) Man fights 10 people using the martial art style called Wing Chun, which was apparently created by a female as specified by the movie. It does not rely on brute strength, but a long series of techniques that are good for not only defending / blocking, but also attacking, striking, and grappling. This scene is basically Japan VS China — a fight between the Chinese (Ip Man’s side) VS the Japanese for winning rice. If you see the movie, watch it with the original audio (I think Cantonese) with English subtitles. Note that there is some blood in this scene, so don’t watch this if your age consists of a single digit rather than 2 (or 3!).

Movie: The Good, The Bad, The Weird

I’m a huge fan of western style movies. Some of them have absolutely awesome storylines, especially older westerns. This isn’t to say that there aren’t loads of generic, boring westerns out there, but there are some that really should be seen since they take all the good stuff and mix it with even more good, yet innovative stuff. The movie The Good, The Bad, The Weird is a PERFECT example. As you may be able to tell, I’ve just recently watched it, which is why I’m writing about it.

So it’s a Korean western, which sounds weird since Korea isn’t a place that produces many movies in such a genre. However, they do so FLAWLESSLY and make the entire movie such a thrill to watch even for someone who isn’t a fan of Westerns. There is nonstop action, cool effects, nice stunts, a great storyline, and even comedy that actually can get you chuckling. You’ll need to watch the movie with subtitles, however, as no English dubbing is available, nor should it be, as that would take away from the movie. The director, as well as the writer of this movie, is Ji-woon Kim, and he really did a fantastic job. This movie earns 5 out of 5 stars in my book! Check out the stream of the movie trailer below–
