How to Fix: Dead Space 3 (Crashing, Freezing, Lagging)
Last Updated on Wednesday, 13 February 2013 02:46 Written by DarkKnightH20 Wednesday, 13 February 2013 02:46
Dead Space 3 came out!…last week. And just like Dead Space 2 and Dead Space 1, it is creepy. Oh so creepy.
They are managing to continue the series without making it dull too, which is always nice. So let’s get down to the reason you are here.
1) Dead Space 3 is lagging a lot!
2) Dead Space 3 is freezing
3) Dead Space 3 keeps crashing!
Which one are you? All of the above perhaps? Then you must be very unlucky. And I say luck because sometimes it seems to happen for no reason!
Anyway, we have some tips in our Dead Space 3 guide of game fixes. They are sure to help some of you, but not all unfortunately.
Fix Dead Space 3 Crashing / Freezing
Crashing is annoying. Especially when it happens when playing randomly (via freezing or genuine crashing). However, crashing on START UP of the game (once it is loaded) is most common and can result in black screens on launch and other pesky errors. This is even more common on Windows 8 than say Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP.
— Change your resolution
— Apply the latest graphics card drivers (they provide solutions for both NVIDIA and ATI for this game)
Fix Dead Space 3 Lagging
Lag is annoying, but not as bad as the other two problems.
— Turn off VSYNC
— Exit any software that could cause issues (and to free up memory / cpu)
— Lower the game’s resolution
— Turn off shadows
— Upgrade your video card drivers (they offer performance enhancements for Dead Space 3)

Fix – Call of Duty: Black Ops II – Lag and Slow Loading Times
Last Updated on Tuesday, 13 November 2012 10:31 Written by DarkKnightH20 Tuesday, 13 November 2012 03:59
This game is great! That is, once you solve any bugs of errors you are experiencing.
If the game is lagging for you, it isn’t necessarily because you have old hardware.
Your Operating System (OS) doesn’t matter too much either. The game should run perfectly on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and also Windows 8 (including Consumer Preview).
This…is actually a driver issue for most people. And while you hear that updating your drivers solves issues for most games, in this case, it actually does. So if you keep encountering slow map loading or keep getting disconnected from the server because of the lag (or even are on Probation for quitting games too much) then…
Follow the suggestions below to fix your game! Works for multiplayer issues AND single player. Also, this of course applies to Steam copies of the game as well.
— Update your drivers (NVIDIA, ATI / AMD, Intel, etc) to the LATEST version
— Reboot
— Go to the NVIDIA Control Panel or AMD / ATI Catalyst Control Center
— This is primarily if you have more than one graphics card (such as an integrated graphics card AND a dedicated one — as seen in many laptops or notebooks) — set your global settings and application settings (such as under Manage 3d setting)
— Disable Sync Every Frame (VSYNC)
— Turn off shadows
— Turn off Ambient Occlusion
— Set Textures to Automatic
Collectively, it should improve your game’s performance.

How to Fix – Call of Duty: Black Ops II – Mouse Sensitivity / Acceleration
Last Updated on Tuesday, 13 November 2012 03:40 Written by DarkKnightH20 Tuesday, 13 November 2012 03:40
Perhaps one of the most annoying errors and bugs encountered by PC users playing games like CoD: Black Ops 2, is that the mouse sensitivty can be either too high or too low.
This issue is further difficulty to deal with when using a high DPI mouse.
Normally, this is easily dealt with by altering the included config / configuration file included with the game (including on Steam copies)…But unfortunately, the config file is encrypted for whatever reason.
To deal with this mouse acceleration problem, the best way of going about it is via the steps below.
— Turn off Sync Every Frame (also known as VSYNC, disable to reduce input lag)
— If using a console version of the game (or PC) with a HDTV, be sure to set your TV / Monitor to GAMING mode (solves stuttering issues)
— Upgrade your graphics card drivers to latest NVIDIA / ATI drivers (as of this time — beta drivers)
— Set your FPS limit higher -> 60
— Those with TWO graphics card (i.e. an integrated graphics card + a dedicated graphics card) will want to set their computer to use the dedicated card
Note that for some people, this problems is also worse during single player rather than multiplayer.
