I just came across a very interesting article from Lifehacker. They conducted tests on the latest browsers (minus Internet Explorer 8 but really who cares?)
The tested browsers and their scores (out of 35 max) are the following:
* Google Chrome 4.0.302.3 (dev): 25
* Google Chrome 4.0.249.78 (stable): 24
* Firefox 3.6: 20
* Firefox 3.5.4: 21
* Opera 10.5 Pre-Alpha: 25
* Opera 10.01: 15
* Safari 4.0.4: 19
Read the full Browser Test article here.
I see Opera becoming popular again in the near future. Unless their final version of 10.5 is worse than the pre-alpha… but what kind of company would do something like that? *Cough* Firefox *cough* .
Additionally keep in mind for memory tests, Chrome will take up more because each tab is a separate browser (so they won’t all crash together.) You decide if it’s worth it. As for me, I won’t switch to any other browser unless it has Adblock Plus.
