I’d like to introduce myself here as Enki, which is actually a new name I choose but that’s besides the point. To kick start things off, security tech tip for XP users:
This precaution mainly to prevent someone with physical access to your PC to decrypt your password from stealing a hash file.

Change the registry key at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\nolmhash equal to the value 1. The value change keeps your computer from storing the hash file in the first place.
