Company of Heroes Online Goes into Open Beta

Relic’s award-winning WWII RTS game Company of Heroes is launching a free online version for multiplayer. As of now, it’s going into an open beta testing phase before it truly launches. At launch though, the game will take on a micro-transactions business model, which allows players to buy small upgrades for small sums, but does not require the player to pay a subscription or even purchase fee to begin or continue playing the game. So you can go ahead and pick up the game now and play it for free without worrying about having to pay a cent.
Registering before September 8th apparently gets you a free copy of the single-player campaign which is pretty kick-ass. Jump on it today!

I’m back! For this post at least.
Anyway, Valve released a game called Alien Swarm for free, along with its source code, available for download off Steam.
Here’s a trailer, it looks like Borderlands gameplay, but with an alien twist. Sounds good to me!
