As some of you may know, there was an article written by Sarah DiGregorio about chicken skin and its culinary uses. It featured an image of a chicken laying in a sexy pose.
Yes I said a sexy chicken pose. What you didn’t think that it was possible to make a chicken look sexy?
I mean comeon… look at this!
These photos were taken and set up by mastermind Mr. Cenicola. When asked about the photoshoot of the chicken, Mr. Cenicola said that the photoshoot was “embarrassingly painful”. This is quite understandable since it is hard to bring sexy back into a dead chicken!
So how long did this take? Well it took him about two days and two chickens. After failing to make the first one sexy for a day, it dried up causing him to need to use the second. This second chicken turned out to be perfect. According to Mr. Cenicola, “The first one had more leg and less breast.”
What did his friends think about the whole photography event? Well for starters, “You have a dirty mind, my friend,”, said one of his colleagues.
This photo offered many viewers a laugh of enjoyment, but PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) was not one of them. When asked about it, Ingrid Newkirk, PETA’s founder was quoted saying “When I saw it I just couldn’t believe that an editor of The New York Times would find it acceptable”. She also stated that, “It’s downright offensive, not just to people who care about animals but almost to everyone. It’s a plucked, beheaded, young chicken in a young pose” . Please do note that by the same token, PETA is launching a porn site to promote itself as an organization.
You can find the original chicken skin article here. At the time of this post it was still up.
