Tom Clancy’s HAWX 2 Won’t Launch, Errors, Crashes, Freezes, Cannot Connect

The Tom Clancy series has always been very popular to those who like games where users perform military related operations. Hawx 2 is no exception. It seems the bad guys have sabotaged some of the game coding. I have came up with a list of fixes for the game. Hopefully this will help you if your game lags, freezes, has errors, etc.

If you have any other problems or fixes, feel free to let us know in the comment section below. We will add more fixes as the information and problems come in.

Tom Clancy’s HAWX 2 Won’t Connect Online or LAN

This was a big problem with the first game. It is less prevelant here but still exists.

Step 1. Try disabling your anti-virus and firewall. Then try to connect.

Step 2. Try forwarding the ports that the game uses if you have a router. This game uses the same ports as the first one so you can forward the
following ports.

TCP 3155
TCP 3163
UDP 1001
UDP 7788
Port Range 3047-3174 TCP/UDP

If you do not know how to forward ports for your router, simply google your router number and the phrase “port forwarding”. There are directions present for all mainstream routers.

Tom Clancy’s HAWX 2 Runs Poorly

Step 1. Update your video card drivers. You can get AMD/ATI video card drivers here, and Nvidia Drivers here.
Step 2. Verify that you have the latest version of DirectX. If you do not, install it.

The Game Crashes and/or Will Not Load

Option 1. More than likely this is because you do not have the latest version of DirectX installed.
Option 2. Try running the game in compatibility mode if you are on Vista or Windows 7. You can do this by right clicking the exe -> properties -> compatibility tab -> and choose to run as windows xp.

Tom Clancy’s HAWX 2 Has Graphical Errors

Option 1. Verify that you have the latest video card drivers, DirectX version, reboot and try again.
Option 2. Check your computer temperatures to make sure they are at acceptable levels.
Option 3. Try minimizing the game via Alt+Tab and then clicking on it again. That may fix your problems sometimes.
Option 4. Disable forced vsync and anti-aliasing. Disable AI for Catalyst if you have an AMD card.
