Real Life FPS Simulator
Last Updated on Wednesday, 2 November 2011 11:00 Written by Naota Wednesday, 2 November 2011 11:00
I remember when I was a kid and saw all these movies of what the year 2000 would look like. There were flying cars, advanced computers, and of course, virtual reality games. Recently an FPS simulator was made. Although its no virtual reality, it certainly is a step in the right direction.
It detects user movement and you can even get shot by paintballs! Enjoy the video above.
I hope to see more advanced implementations of this in the future.

Cool Video: Tomlucient’s First Look at the XIO Gaming VR Simulator Prototype & Novint Falcon
Last Updated on Monday, 24 October 2011 01:05 Written by DarkKnightH20 Thursday, 27 October 2011 08:00
This is some really cool virtual gaming technology. You feel the weight of items you carry in game, you can look around, and even hold real weapons. This is by creators of the Novint Falcon — another cool gaming device. Here is the XIO prototype, which of course is NOT released yet:
And here is the Novint Falcon game controller, which IS available. This is a nice review about how it works well with Crysis and comes with a nice Pistol Grip:
Cool stuff, huh?

Review: Alpha Protocol (PC)
Last Updated on Monday, 7 June 2010 06:51 Written by servbot_kill Wednesday, 9 June 2010 02:24
Review: Alpha Protocol
System: PC (also available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3)
Release Date: June 1st, 2010 on all systems
Format: 2-Disc DVD, Steam Digital Download, Blu-ray
I tend to be a fan of the secret agent genre, more the Bourne side portrayal of the story rather than the Bond side (although Casino Royale was a fantastic reboot and earns its place in my undying love for great movies). CIA open literature on the subject is fantastically entertaining if but for the dickery that goes on in the trade. I watch Burn Notice whenever it’s available. So I have to say, I was looking forward to Alpha Protocol for a while since its announcement in 2008.

Was it worth waiting? Not entirely.

Fan-made Modern Warfare Short
Last Updated on Friday, 7 May 2010 02:22 Written by servbot_kill Saturday, 10 April 2010 04:54
Pretty damn well done for the grand total of $USD 209.42.
Yeah, pretty damn well done. Then again though, one has to wonder if they factored in the cost of those clothes and the airsoft guns they used, and if they did, what kind of quality did they get…
(I’m supposing for just filming purposes quality doesn’t really matter for airsoft guns
)
UPDATE: New link for the video since the old one got taken down by copyright claim for some weird reason

Edutainment? We Already Have It
Last Updated on Wednesday, 31 March 2010 08:38 Written by servbot_kill Wednesday, 31 March 2010 08:37
It’s what most of us already know: modern games take real themes and ideas and integrate them into their narratives and sometimes their gameplay mechanics. If you pay attention, you actually learn things from games that end up useful in other areas, particularly those concepts you encounter in academia.

EVGA dual-socket 270-GT-W555
Last Updated on Wednesday, 31 March 2010 02:13 Written by Enki Wednesday, 31 March 2010 01:31
There have been quite a few dual LGA 1366 socket boards out in the market already, but none of them have the mix between being an ultimate server and a high end gaming rig. This board will encode movies, render images, or even load games faster than ever. It’s also known as the Classified SR-2. It is definitely future-proof.
