  • Microsoft phone app turns normal pics into 3D models

    Microsoft researchers are making it easy for anyone to capture objects in 3D with a new cell phone app. Really, there’s an app for everything now. According to the the MIT Technology Review, the software uses overlapping snapshots to build a photo-realistic 3D model. We’ve all seen the 3D photos online that let you look up, down, left, right, and pretty much any angle on the screen. The Microsoft app will let you capture pictures to do just that.

  • Google’s Android Market in-app billing ready for testing, goes live next week

    During a week where the Android Market lost some attention to the launch of Amazon’s Appstore, Google announced it will introduce an official in-app billing platform for its Android operating system next week. However, the billing platform is ready for testing now in advance of the public launch.
